The Avon High School marching band is well known throughout the country. The Avon Marching Black as well as Gold, led by Jay Webb, Matt Harloff, Daniel Wiles, Karl Hartman, as well as Robert Burns, was ranked primary in the state of Indiana by the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) 7 years straight (two times in Class B, 5 times in Class A).
